Is there ice on the sun?

You decide!

That top one is really good. Intersting landsape. It reminds me a lot of images I've seen of Iceland, for some reason - not Canadian looking at all.

Plus its nice to see things that aren't entirely covered with snow. There's no open water here - or even ice showing - here at all. I think you must be a couple of degrees warmer than we are.

Perhaps, but not warm enough for anything to thaw. This river carries run-off from the city's storm sewers and is relatively warm, so open water appears in all but the most frigid weather. The first image was taken in a ditch below one of the effluent pipes. It didn't have any running water today, but apparently it did recently.

Now that you mention it, wow! That must be a piece of petrified wood....on the Martian surface! This is amazing!

This is a lovely series. If only NASA could get pictures this clear from Mars.

Ha! You would think they could send something as simple as a Kodak point-and-shoot and teach the computer how to use it!

Thanks.
