Baking day

vaneramosLast night we watched Life of Brian. Brenna had seen it before, but neither Marian nor I had. I laughed so hard during the alien spaceship scene that Brenna thought I was going insane. I haven't had such a good laugh in years.
This afternoon we baked chocolate chip cookie squares.
Brenna is getting better at Cribbage. She just beat me at two straight games. She has this amazing strategy: she chatters endlessly, makes silly noises, keeps getting distracted and losing track of the count. Soon I'm rolling my head on the table, barely able to contain my frustration. Once I have lost my ability to think coherently, she easily wins.
