jaique's night out
Jul. 4th, 2003 12:49 pmWhen I commented that a gay leather event is probably a relatively safe and fun place for straight women, my friend
jaique posted this amusing response, but it kept appearing in the wrong place, so I'm posting the story here:
Years ago, I had a friend--the mother of Rosemary's baby, actually, if you've been following the melodrama--who was best friends with a well-connected gay guy; and thus we all got invited to a private party at what was then Club Max in Boston. We were in the position of those willowy women, and let me tell you, honey, we had a ball. It was like being a tulip in a meat market. Nobody was oogling us or hitting on us. The guys were all quite courtly and had superb manners. We danced and laughed and enjoyed the goings on. That is all of us except Jim, our roommate, who was straight and had no idea what he was getting into when he signed on for that particular tour. :-)
