Arizona envy
Jan. 11th, 2004 11:41 amThe past couple days I felt a twinge of jealousy toward friends heading to La Fiesta de los Osos this week. It's partly because Ontario is in the deep freeze, and winter always gives me Arizona fantasies. But mostly it's thinking of various interesting LJ friends and faces getting together. Reclusive as I am, I like to be a part of goings-on. I have never attended a bear run. Of course, until recently, if I had attended one, I wouldn't have known anyone. How LJ has changed things!
The good news is I'm going to shack up with
djjo for two weeks beginning on Thursday while
bitterlawngnome and
danthered are away. Which means we'll keep Toronto at least as hot as Tucson. So I'm fairly pleased with the situation, and only a teensy bit jealous.
The good news is I'm going to shack up with
GERD relief
Jan. 11th, 2004 04:30 pmThanks to
daisydumont and
poetbear for telling me about GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), which I probably have, although it hasn't been diagnosed. Since mentioning the symptoms in a post on Wednesday, I have tried a couple new strategies that I read about:
I'm not sure what made the difference, but after suffering from acid reflux on nearly a daily basis for the past several months, it has stopped since Wednesday night.
- Never drinking any fluids at the same time as solid food—before or after a meal or snack okay, but not during.
- Eating a large meal in the middle of the day and a small one in the evening.
