I spent Friday evening and Saturday morning getting to know
Friday night after dessert at the Bookshelf we went to the chorus's fundraising dance. A couple friends who don't know Danny very well mistook Darrell for him; they look enough alike. Even a couple closer friends did a double take in the dim light. He likes to dance so we spent a considerable amount of time on the floor. It was a good spring fix and made me happy.
Saturday morning we woke slowly, cuddling with warm sunlight poking at the curtain. Then we toured Guelph farmers market. There's a Greek baker whose spanakopita and custard pastries I usually go for, but this time we were both in the mood for egg and peameal bacon sandwiches from the coffee bar. We sat eating in warm sun on the concrete wall outside.
Then I showed him some of Guelph's beauty: the covered bridge, the park along the Speed River, and old stone bridges at Gordon Street and McCrae Street. The water was high and foaming with spring runoff.
