It would be an oversimplification to say taking my daughters camping at Bruce Peninsula National Park was just an excuse to photograph and pay homage to my favourite wildflower, Gentiana crinita, in the botanical paradise around Dorcas Bay. I also wanted to see and feel the incredibly pure, bracing, turquoise water of Georgian Bay again, and blog about the experience. I am as happy as a man can be returning home, physically exhausted, from three days in heaven. We are all well. Rain only affected us Wednesday evening, and that wasn't bad. Thursday was spotless. For its rugged beauty, Bruce Peninsula deserves a spot on the list of places to visit before you die. I won't have time to write about it in depth until next week. For now, here is a foretaste.
