Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5:30, Out On The Shelf, Guelph's queer library and community centre, will throw a party to celebrate its first anniversary. The program will include readings, and I have been invited to participate along with Sky Gilbert and five or six other queer writers from Guelph and Toronto. Unfortunately I probably won't get to meet Sky this time, as he is last on the program and I'm first, and I must drive Brenna home that afternoon. If you would like to come out to hear and support me, I'm scheduled for about 2:15. OOTS is at 147 Wyndham Street North, Guelph.
I'll read some selections from An Elegant Path, plus newer and older poetry. I'll also take copies of the chapbook for sale.
I might be able to sell the last few copies, so if you haven't purchased one yet and would like to, now could be your last chance to order. I'm mentioning it here because a few of you who expressed interest have never done so. Click here and read the last few paragraphs, after the photo of the booklet, for ordering instructions. I have no plans to reprint it.
The life drawing session I planned to attend on Monday nights keeps getting cancelled. I'm busy, so no matter. I spent last evening setting up the new computer, and I'm connected and working from it now. Most of the software is installed. What remains is the tedious job of transferring files by floppy disk and memory card. Technically I'm able to transfer the photos from my camera now, but there's too much else to do and no time for photography this week, not today at least. For now here's another photo from Thanksgiving weekend. The old computer is still set up on the computer table, the new one on the living room floor, so my ass is getting very sore from sitting on the futon.
On the new flat screen Samsung monitor, I can actually see details in the shadows of my photographs. I am well pleased.
After a shower, I'm off to pick up the weekly bread for Two Rivers. Busy Tuesdays and Wednesdays don't bother me so much as they used to.
