Vacation

I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow—mostly the cottage and some Toronto—and won't be home until after July 2. Between difficult family stuff and a stressful work week, I'm feeling emotionally raw and ready for down time. Not that this vacation will be particularly quiet. For starters, I'm going to Brenna's grade eight graduation tomorrow evening. Her mother invited me, which is unprecedented (I haven't met any of Brenna's teachers since kindergarten). Brenna will be valedictorian.

Then I'll have a quiet day alone at the cottage before things get busy with family. I've been savouring the thought of some quiet hours on the dock, to get me through this week.

Just wanted to let friends know I haven't fallen off the end of the world yet.
