Current projects
Jun. 22nd, 2008 10:09 pmHere are two of my latest knitting projects. First is a scarf of feather-and-fan lace for
marian_w. The yarn is merino wool from Koigu.
Next is work-in-progress, the band for the traveling rib hat designed by
djjo. The rib effect is created by cabling, and this is my most challenging project so far. Considerable progress was made during the week as Dad and I made several laundry runs to Huntsville. I hope to put in a few more hours and finish the hat this week. Both background and foreground colours are 60 percent mohair 40 per cent wool yarn from Wellington Fibres. So it's soft, and the cabling makes a dense, warm fabric for Ontario winters.
djjo came to Guelph and we had a big dyeing weekend. I'll post more about that tomorrow.
Last night while drifting off to sleep, I had a dream that looked animated, like a sequence from the movie Waking Life. My father and several other people were flying or skating up a curved tunnel made of bright graph lines on a dark background; it looked like a geometric representation of a wormhole. They were searching for something, and hitting brightly-coloured flags and markers with hockey sticks and baseball bats.
