I was allowed to leave work a little early yesterday and today, due to the fact that we were moving tonnes of lumber around and it was extremely hot and muggy. Les didn't want us to overwork.

I began the day on a less dysthymic footing than usual, and arrived home with more than the usual allotment of energy, despite the heat: did laundry, put pasta sauce on the stove, and did some tidying.

Finally I got around to doing some maintenance on the loom this evening. I cut the two steel rods to length for the two missing warp rods, tied a number of loops to fasten them to the two corresponding existing rods, then realized the latter are a few inches too short. It's a problem only because the project I've chosen requires almost the entire 45" width of the loom. The two rods I bought were the last ones at the Canadian Tire on Stone Road, however there are two other CT stores and a Rona between here and the shop, so I'll look for a couple more on the way home tomorrow. If I can't find any, two dowels will provide a temporary solution.

I'll take another crack at it tomorrow night. I still need to make a raddle. I'm far from being ready to dress the loom, but I'd like to start on the weekend.
