Cleaning game
Apr. 9th, 2011 02:26 pmThe decluttering habit moves ahead. I continue carrying junk to the dumpster every time I go out, and actual housecleaning has become a regular activity. I've kept the kitchen table clear and done dishes every day this week. On weekends when I'm home I devote some time to the rest of the apartment. Today I spent two hours.
The big projects still need a lot of work. Only one is complete. The ones in parenthesis have received some attention but still need work:
On the other hand, the reorganization of the kitchen has developed further than planned. As a result, my cooking and eating habits have shifted in a positive direction. This feels like the cascade effect of good habits. I'll write more about it another time.
Each weekend I generate a pile of junk by the front door, which disappears over the course of the week, with daily trips to the dumpster. It's sort of a game.
Now I'm off to Toronto for a show and the night. More cleaning next weekend.

- book library
- (pile of clean laundry)
baking supplies- (the pile of boxes that has occupied the front room since moving day, August 2009)
- (the bedroom closet)
- filing cabinet, which has a great working system but hasn't been updated in 15 years
