Tour guide
Jun. 21st, 2011 07:25 pmI have volunteered to be a guide for Speed River walking tours under the auspices of Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG). Three Sunday afternoons this summer I get to take people for a 90-minute walk and describe the ecology, history and watershed flora of the river I love. This afternoon I went to the OPIRG office to meet the coordinator and pick up the lengthy script. I will have to prime my mind with a whack load of information, however improvisation is encouraged. This will challenge and stretch me in all the best ways. I'll post more details in Speed River Journal once OPIRG publishes online information about the tours.
