Clattering rabbit

This afternoon I came home from guiding a walking tour along the Speed River, crashed in bed, and actually dozed for a few minutes, highly unusual for me during the day. I dreamt of a mechanical rabbit consisting of a rolled up skin with a complete live rabbit head. From underneath protruded scrolls of other animal skins, metal rods and a pencil. The creature dragged itself over a smooth, white surface using the pencil to write cryptic messages in blood. The dream seemed inspired by two elements from Clash of the Titans (1981), which I saw last night for the first time: Bubo the mechanical owl, and Andromeda's deadly riddles given to her in red paint or blood. While I dozed, Danny worked upstairs on the table loom, which makes a clumsy, clattering sound.
