Habitual salad
Feb. 19th, 2013 10:29 amI haven't provided updates on the salad habit, first of my 6 Changes for 2013, but it has been completely successful. Read more about it over at Speed River Journal, where I've included a list of my favourite formulae from the past few weeks. I am loving my salads. Toward the end of the process I mildly resented the days I hadn't switched to salad yet.
This is an advantage I have found from the 6 Changes principle of shifting into new habits gradually, not suddenly. Experiencing the benefits, you want more of a good thing. The change in behaviour becomes its own reward. It's manipulative and it works.
So I've been eating salad every day now for two weeks. Now I am impatient to get started on the next change: exercise 6 days a week. I cannot think of a good reason to wait until March 1 to make a plan.
