In an online Scrabble game I just played my fourth bingo (seven-letter word) on my seventh turn. My words so far were:

EXAM, BLITHER (not a bingo, I added onto THE), SANGERS, NEEDILY, GAZED, STEADILY and REUNION.

I'm leading the score 399 to 129 with 25 tiles yet to draw. I've played three bingos in a game before (against [livejournal.com profile] stealthpup I believe) but never four.

"sangers"?

Oh he's good - but he doesn't rub it in

Plus it's more fun just playing a game with him rather than trying frantically to win. Doesn't mean I play to loose either - I like a good challenge!

Haw haw. Don't worry, we'll have other amusements.

It's an acceptable Scrabble word. I believe it's Aussie slang for sandwiches.

What Danny said. Scrabble is a little like wrestling.

I average more than one per game. On jomarco.com last year I played 42 seven-letter words in 32 games.

Heh. I tried FARK in a tournament last weekend (it was challenged off), and I told my opponent, "What?! It's a Scottish curse word, honest!"

Worse than that. According to my OSPD2, it's a variant of SANGARS -- "a temporary fortification for two or three men".

One can increase that percentage through judicious rack balancing. Classic example from the mailing list I'm on: with an opening rack of EGINLTX, it's better to exchange the X, rather than making a play like LEX, because the odds are overwhelming that you'll be able to bingo (with a 7- or 8-letter word) next turn.

Wow, fascinating strategy!

Thanks for the definition.

I ended up winning the game 513 to 266, just one point short of my personal best score on Jomarco. I had a fifth 7-letter word later in the game, but nowhere to play it.
