My sense of humour score
Jan. 23rd, 2005 02:48 pmThe interesting thing: this only made half-sense until I got to the last paragraph, and then everything fell into place. Only Marian gets my humour. Only Marian is listening. And I loved A Fish Called Wanda.
Sunny/Dark: 5/10
drY/Gross: 4/10
Traditional/Offbeat: 7/10
Active/Passive: 0/10
You are a SYO--Sunny Dry Offbeat. This makes you a Sly Boots.
You are the cutest! You come off so nice and sweet that people don't think you'll be funny, and then SHA-POW you're pouring the Beringer and making gentle but searingly accurate fun of the people you work with.
If there isn't one of your type at a party, then I don't want to go.
You would never use humor to hurt somebody. You start slow and finish big, sometimes dropping little humor bombs no one gets until later. You know how people are always like, "Hey, you should invite so-and-so." You're so-and-so.
You might like Mystery Science Theater 3000, A Fish Called Wanda and the following story (stop me if you've heard this one):
My boyfriend and I were touring Ireland in a rental car. Every time he saw castle ruins, which was about every hundred yards, he'd say, "Look at that castle! It's RUINED!" He was totally SYO. I shoulda tapped dat sh1t. (Story reprinted from article talkback.)
Of the 8593 people who have taken this quiz, 6.2 % are this type.
Your Active humor score of 0/10 means you are too shy shy. Hush hush, hide-away. You could really unload a can of whoop-ass hilarity on anyone -- anyone receptive to humor at all -- but the sneaky thing here is you don't really care. You don't feel the need to be the center of attention, so you hold the big guns in reserve until the right moment. In a world full of people who think they're funnier than they are, you're exactly as funny as you want to be. Um, regardless of whether anybody else ever takes notice.

Date: 2005-01-23 11:42 pm (UTC)I'll have to make a point of checking out "Fierce Creatures", too. "A Fish Called Wanda" is absolutely one of my favourite movies. The performances by Jamie Lee Curtis, John Cleese, Kevin Kline and Michael Palin are about the best I've ever seen of them, and that's saying a lot, considering the volume of work they've each done over the years. It is a film I can watch over and over again and enjoy each and every time.
