Back pain

My back was a little sore last night, but by this morning it was excruciating. I'm usually stoical about physical discomfort, but this has me yelling at the slightest wrong move and resultant twinge.

We were planning to go to Dave's tree decorating open house this afternoon but I had to cancel. It's agonizing just shifting between standing up and sitting down.

Danny rubbed it for a while and found a big knot in my left latissimus dorsi, just below the shoulder blade. This is likely a result of dumbbell rows Friday afternoon, which I attacked with full fervour despite having attended the gym inconsistently of late. I need to be more careful how I swing those weights. Some bedroom acrobatics yesterday afternoon might not have helped.

Keyboarding is bad too, at least working from the bottom of this armchair. I don't have a better chair, so probably won't spend much time online until this is better. I finally submitted to getting horizontal for a little while, which relaxed those muscles temporarily. But I don't take well to being immobilized unless it involves sleep or sex.

I still plan to drive Danny to the bus depot in a little while.

May I recommend a beer or glass of wine? Alcohol is a good muscle relaxant.

As a matter of fact, I just finished a glass of Pelee Island Gewurztraminer (the prickly pear) and have a couple more remaining to get me through the evening!
