Toronto bus
Mar. 31st, 2006 03:57 pmI packed and left home in a flurry. Outside, fine spring weather caused me to stow my jacket. I’ve been back and forth to Toronto less frequently of late, partly because our schedules have both been busy. Riding the bus felt strangely unfamiliar. It was packed. The press of people bore a tapestry of tales. A woman seated behind called someone twice on her cell phone. “I’ll be there same time as yesterday,” she said. Who rides to Toronto at lunchtime, two days in a row? The man beside me and his girlfriend across the aisle took turns snoozing and reading a self-help book about eating disorders. She was the first person I saw wearing sandals.
I finished knitting a section of scarf, then put it away. Tonight I plan to meet
bruno_bt and visit the newest bar, Alibi. Tomorrow I hope to meet Christopher for coffee to mark his birthday, today.
