Looking forward
Apr. 5th, 2006 05:35 pmThis year it's bound to be more complicated. Marian, now 14, wants a job. I intend to continue treating my volunteer position at Two Rivers as a job, limiting my time off. I also plan to register for a plot at the community garden. I suggested she might volunteer there also. She and Brenna helped with holiday camp one afternoon on March Break, quickly earning a reputation among my co-workers as pleasant and responsible. Marian expressed interest in that alternative, although it's also possible she'll get a job in Lindsay, so I wouldn't see her much.
It will be harder spending more time in Guelph. The apartment gets cramped with three people. The air conditioner brings only marginal relief.
I've promised Brenna a camping trip, just the two of us, like one I did with Marian two summers ago, although she would prefer something more civilized without long portages.
I also look forward to visits from a handful of distant LiveJournal friends beginning with
ubermunkey in May. It is going to be busy as ever.
