I needed to finish a second drawing before tomorrow's art class (my own commitment), so I did this today. It's a little crazy.

Be a Star

Hey, neat! This reminded me of another Van... Van Gogh and Starry Night!

Nice!

Actually, this is a brazen rip-off of Starry Night! It's been on my mind lately.

HA! I'm good! Or you're good! Something like that. ;)

Gorgeous! Love the colors and the shapes of those tree limbs.

Thanks. I can actually see those trees from my office window!

Wintry - almost Christmassy in feeling. I like it!

It captures a great deal of the essence of Starry Night while being uniquely yours as well. Well done!

Wow, that's an interesting take, quite different from how I feel about it, but I see what you mean, and it's completely valid. It's interesting how people see things.

Pete, you have to allow me a little gentle self-deprecation. ;-)

I had a lot of fun drawing this, and was interested how natural that essence felt for me. It's no secret I adore Impressionism. I might even explore this in a larger format, later.

I love it. Like being awash in the sea of the universe.

Beautiful! Van. looks great. There is a soothing, serene quality to it. I love Van Gogh's paintings, yet I agree you kind of gave it your own unique quality. Definitely makes a great post card.

I enjoy this: My primary emotional response is one of being soothed, but then there is also an underlying, low-grade anxiety. Prolly, the latter is related more to my own fucked-up-ednesses: I think it's a combination of several very similar blue tints, prompting me to look harder to differentiate ... and then the sharp yellows against it.

I really wish I could paint. It's always appealed to me.

That's a nice way of describing it. Thank you!

I was about to ask whether you saw any Northern Lights, but I doubt you ever saw a night sky. This time of year it would stay light all night.

Actually, your comment is extremely intuitive. I was unusually agitated on Thursday morning when I sat down to create this drawing, and the process really calmed me down. It was another healing drawing, like the previous one.

I didn't really have a night sky, per se, in Yukon. It got as dark as twilight. However, when we flew into Edmonton on Monday night, the aurora was displaying in the western sky. Very nice even with the lights of the city.
