Brenna and I arrived home safely but a little sunburnt from Goderich about 3:30 this afternoon. We had some fun adventures and, for the first time, I filled the 1 GB memory card using my Canon A620 (thank you, djjo), so there will be plenty of photos to share over the next few days.

One of the highlights was meeting the spiritual and beautiful clairenolen and her partner at their rural home yesterday. Mia took some photos of Brenna for a book project, also some of the two of us together. I was surprised when she used a black umbrella as a prop. bitterlawngnome shot some photos with me, Marian and her former umbrella, Tildred, in March 2005, but they were never posted online, so Mia could not possibly have known about them. An umbrella seems like a powerful symbol for me and my children; I think my life would have been much sadder without them. clairenolen's journal is mostly friends-only, but she agreed to let me repost the photos here.
