Eager

So the beginning of work got deferred again because a wrong organ part came. I tell you, this is the incredibly magic vanishing job, like a giant carrot on a stick. But really it is not vanishing, because I know Les well, and all the difficulties are real, probably more frustrating for him than for me. It's his livelihood, too. I've waited a decade for employment, so what's another week?

The past two days have been busy anyway. Yesterday, since I wasn't working for Les, I was able to look after Luke, and another cheque should be in the mail in time for Christmas shopping. After that, Rainbow Chorus gave a performance at a Christmas banquiet for Action Read, an agency that provides literacy training for adults. Then I popped over to Kitchener for another evening visit with [livejournal.com profile] veganbear1970, [livejournal.com profile] modern_mark and [livejournal.com profile] themacbear. Good company, fun with music, et cetera. I'm becoming rather attached to them.

This afternoon I've been home trying to collect myself and the pieces of work to do over the weekend. I've done five interviews for the concert narrative, so it's time to start writing. I also have a couple of knitting projects underway. In a few minutes I'll head out the door to Toronto to stay until Wednesday, because Les has two jobs for us there early next week. And if these don't materialize, well...

All these years I have wanted to have a job because I needed income and stability, but honestly I have never really wanted to work as much as I do right now. I'm not worrying, just eager. All good things are worth waiting for.

Only two knitting projects? Sissy. I have five at the moment...

How frustrating for you and Les about the work/organ parts!

Only two knitting projects?

And one is only imaginary, because I haven't started. Actually three if I count the hat I dropped in order to work on Christmas projects. And a couple others are only in the planning stages. So if I use a broader definition, I have five, too.

I get antsy too if I've been waiting for an organ for a long time (sorry, I bet you've heard 'em all...)

Oh, OK--that's better. I'll count projects in the planning stage.

Actually, no. For me this is a new undertaking.
