The Guelph Flickr group has become a lively community, and I'm proud to have been an early contributor. Now several members have organized a photo contest to "convey what downtown Guelph is all about". An independent jury will select 21 photos to be included in a group show at the Red Brick Café throughout May. Here are the two images I chose to enter: sunset over the Speed River, and the entrance of Van Gogh's Ear, a downtown bar.

The sunset over the Speed River is fantastic. I first saw it on my computer at work, and it looked good, but at home... I guess my monitor here is better, because I see so much more detail. Ir's a really fine photo.

Yes, I have issues with my own monitor, so picking photos with the best exposure is always a guessing game. I can see more detail, too, looking at it tonight on Danny's computer. Thanks kindly.
