I finally did something I've talked about and wanted for years: started a writers circle. We held our first meeting tonight. We are four, and it's going to be a fantastic group. Getting together face-to-face around a table is still the best.

Also today, something I didn't want but needed: to purchase a pair of reading glasses. Really don't need them yet for reading in normal light, but they'll make it easier to look at things more closely, like some finer-detailed organ building tasks, and knitting.

Man I wish I lived in Guelph for your writer's circle and I think we all will need glasses at some point (I already have a pair for distance).

Needing glasses for distance just means your eyes are a little different. Too strong, actually. ;-)

Needing reading glasses means I'm getting older and my lenses are growing less flexible. It does indeed happen to everyone, I'm just griping about another little reminder of mortality. I used to have better-than-average eyesight. Guess I'm losing one of my few superhuman powers.
