Knitted kaleidoscope
Oct. 27th, 2008 07:54 pmI saw this remarkable thing made by Debbie New when she gave a talk at the same show with Danny in Toronto in September. Debbie has a passion for physics and math, and incredible sense of humour, and manages to tangle it all into her knitting. This kaleidoscope is called "Ten Ugly Hats". Each hat is filled with a Styrofoam cone. And they articulate not with the usual wooden, plastic or metal gears, but the knitted ribbing around the hat bands. What a mind!
Thanks to JennaU for video recording this in Oregon.
