I just picked up a phone message from Dad. He went to Leamington Hospital by ambulance yesterday with a high fever, and it turns out to be pneumonia. He said he had felt his strength declining for several days, but is feeling better today. He will be in hospital several days. Unfortunately I can't call him back, but will phone a friend for updates. Leamington is a lot closer to home, so it will be easier for people to visit him there. I'll wait and see whether he needs me to go down when he gets out. So much for things getting back to normal.

Thanks, Vicki. I had hoped his general good health would lead to a smooth recovery, but I guess nothing is ever that simple. I'm concerned that Dad was trying to do too much. Here's hoping this hospital stay will get him on the right track.

I think Dad might have tried to do too much. He's not used to having restraints on his activity. I hope he will slow down and take it a little easier now. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hugs to you both. I hope he can get over this quickly. It's a nasty thing to have.

Thanks Love. I will wait until Dad gets out of hospital, probably Friday or Saturday, then go down to help him out for a couple of days. I am also looking into getting a homecare nurse to come in an check on him for a while.
