Moving

An opportunity has arisen for me to move into another affordable, two-bedroom apartment closer to downtown Guelph. Anyone who has followed this blog for the past six years will know what a horror story this place has been. Things have been more peaceful lately, but maintenance doesn't happen unless I write angry letters, which isn't my style. I decided long time ago, I need to move, but I didn't think anything else this cheap was available. Well, I was wrong. Now isn't the best time, but the new place is exactly what I'm looking for. I don't expect a door like this to open again. Read more about this on The Yarn. The building is within sight of where this icon photo was taken, Guelph Farmers' Market.

What wonderful news! I hope you have folks nearby who can help coordinate the logistics to make the move more tenable for you. As the old saying goes, "many hands make light work."

It will be a big job, which is one of the things that scares me. One good thing about the flood last year was it eliminated a lot of useless, broken stuff (nothing really valuable was destroyed except photographs), so that will make the load lighter. So far Danny and Sylvie have volunteered, and I hope to recruit a few more.

I think that is great news that you can move away from the place that has given so much trouble in the past and although peaceful at the moment would likely erupt again some time. And since friends currently occupy the place you know it will be a nice place with a decent landlord.

Good on you, part two! Our dear friend miami_pony used to live in Guelph, and our one weekend visit to him last year included Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market.
