The haemorrhoid problem has cleared up. Thanks for all the support and advice.

As a consequence of the health concerns, I resumed taking dietary supplements. I stopped taking everything all at once last November during a period of overwhelm. I'm not sure why taking vitamins felt like such a burden; perhaps it was the expense.

Honestly, I'm still intimidated about it unless I use a pill organizer. I don't recall whether I mislaid the box I was using last year, or just ignored it until I forgot where it was. Anyway, it went missing. When I went to pick up prescriptions two weeks ago, I bought a new one, which was the surest way to locate the old one. A few days later it appeared on the bottom shelf of the spice cabinet, where it has apparently lain in plain view for the past 10 months. So I cleaned, restocked and resumed using it.

I'm taking glucosamine for joint health, vitamin D during the dark months for mood stability, and Omega-3s to boost good cholesterol (it is also supposed to be good for arthritis and mood disorders). I also started taking vitamin B complex to help heal the haemorrhoids, but if it seems to help fend off lethargy I will try continuing with it. Apparently gluten-intolerant people are prone to vitamin B deficiency. This afternoon I picked up Psyllium husk from the health food store to help regulate digestion.

I am leary of habits begun like this, on impulse, because I have a tendency to quit them just as impulsively for no reason besides boredom. Hopefully the threat of arthritic pain, fatigue and low-grade depression will deter future carelessness.

I keep washing the dishes before they pile up. Today I even washed them after work, before leaving for my volunteer shift. I doubt that I have ever washed dishes on a Tuesday since at least 2006. Consistent dish washing only happens when I have more than usual energy.
