My first day back to work turned out damn close to my ideal day. I decided to keep my morning routine simple, not expect too much of myself so early, so it got off to a good start:
- 6:00, radio came on, lay in bed for half an hour
- 6:35, morning constitutional with National Geographic, then shower, dress and make breakfast
- 7:10, wrote 100 words while eating breakfast of fruit, yogurt and millet cereal with herbal tea
- 7:30, time to spare! browsed FB and LJ
- 7:50, made lunch
- 8:05, left for work, brushed and scraped car, deep breathing exercises for a couple minutes in the car, encountered more than the usual delays including slippery roads, hitting all the red lights, police rerouting traffic for an accident, and finally a kid running across the street too close in front of me (panic attack and more deep breathing)
- 8:40, arrived work, nobody there, started cleaning
- 9:15, left with Les on service calls (yay, I like doing service calls!)
- 11:45, lunch at Thai Sun in Kitchener
- 12:15, more service calls
- 3:00, arrived back at the shop, unloaded the van
- 3:15, let go early! left lunch in fridge at work for tomorrow and picked up a snack at Zehr's
- 3:45, stopped at Speed River Trail north of Guelph and went for a beautiful walk in the snowy woods, voice recorded some thoughts
- 4:45, arrived home, made tea, checked email
- 5:15, transcribed voice recording, got excited some more about the Winter Journal
- 6:30, did two work orders for The Content Authority, including one easy rewrite and a piece about Italian lakes vacations (interesting to research)
- 8:15, quit work and went to put last night's leftovers in the microwave
- 8:20, Danny called, so I talked to him and knitted
- 8:45, turned on the microwave, wound a ball of yarn while waiting
- 9:00, played Catan while eating dinner, had a glass of wine
- 10:15, wrote this
- 10:46, it's bedtime!
