CBC Radio 2 has two interviews with k.d. lang upon the release of her new studio album, Sing It Loud:

I think being confident, being peaceful, being compassionate, giving my best is my activism. My teacher said to me one time: "There's only one thing that can't be taken from you, and that's your contentment." ....To me contentment and confidence is your biggest weapon.
