The kids were all here again on the weekend for multiple birthdays. Brenna turned 18 on Nov. 15 and Kerri's birthday was Nov. 22. Brenna and her new boyfriend Dan went home on the train Sunday morning, but Kerri and Marian wanted to spend vacation time here. They originally planned to stay until Wednesday, but some minor injuries extended our time together. I didn't plan to take any time off work, but strained my back on Monday and had to stay home the rest of the week. Then yesterday Kerri banged her head in the garage while doing some body work on my car. She wasn't in good shape to drive so I told them to stay another night. Marian cleaned some burns out of my best pots; no one else has such persistence. Last night she and I sat up knitting and talking for a couple hours after Kerri and Danny went to bed. This afternoon we watched several movies. They left about half an hour ago. I stood on the porch and waved them down the street. Marian and I probably haven't spent such an extended time together since our Maritimes trip in 2005. She turns 20 three weeks from yesterday. They'll be back before then.
