Armed and Dangerous

vaneramosI am now wired for conducting interviews via Skype with MP3 Skype Recorder for audio recording. I had to go buy a headset because the microphone on my laptop apparently languished from disuse and died of boredom. The webcam has never worked, so there will be no video. At least I do not need to resort back to a landline (we don't have one). Technology is fun but I hope I don't need any more new equipment for a while.
In other news, I am lining up preliminary interviews to gather info for my first story pitch. This is all very exciting. It feels surreal remaking myself as a journalist after 17 years on hiatus. That's almost how old my parents were when they became parents, so a generation.
I think I'll spend the rest of today learning more about how to use my SmartPen, which is unfortunately not a fountain pen.
