Hanover Post

I dreamt I was working again at The Hanover Post, the weekly newspaper where I was actually a staff writer in 1989-1991. Except it was in Guelph not Hanover, we published five days a week and the staff were sort of but not quite the same people. There were four editorial staff. The sports writer was William Hurt's character from The Big Chill. We were in the process of shifting to extended editions on Tuesdays and Fridays, which meant we had to do a lot more writing including a column and several articles per day.

What brought that on?

For the past few months I have been working at relaunching a freelance writing career. I haven't worked full-time as a journalist since 1995. This dream is a transparent attempt by my self-conscious to motivate me to work harder. It worked somewhat. I woke up with a more optimistic and energetic outlook than yesterday.
