[Dream] Weird quilt

A few nights ago I had this dream with just one, intriguing image. I keep remembering it. I was holding up a quilt I had made, but it was not solid fabric. It was divided into 60 to 80 squares, each consisting of a square frame suspending a roundish object within using fine thread. You could see through spaces between and within the frames. The objects had a lot of primary colours and looked like plastic toys, but were actually needle felted. The overall effect was a bulky lace.
