I never win anything because I never gamble unless it's for a good cause. Still, I never win anything. But last year I bought some raffle tickets to support Ed Video media arts centre, and won a photo session with Dean Palmer. It was a nice chance to get a portrait of myself for professional purposes and at the same time a "family portrait" of me and Danny djjo.

The photos came just in time for our 10th anniversary. We met on July 4, 2003. This year we will mark the occasion at Haliburton School of Art, where Danny is taking a week-long course in business for artists, and I'm taking one in travel photography to brush up my skills. We're staying at a B&B that we like and should have time to enjoy the pleasures of cottage country, too.

This photo was taken in late May, my favourite time of year in Guelph, beside the beloved Eramosa River. We are wearing fibre craft pieces made by each other. I'm a winner after all.
