Photo control freaking
Jul. 12th, 2013 11:58 amThe photography course last week gave me the extra nudge to invest in Photoshop Lightroom. So I have begun digging through tutorials and preparing to migrate from Picasa.
One of the things that has always frustrated me is how Picasa's organization relates not whatsoever to the actual file structure. As a classmate pointed out, "Picasa takes over." I use Explorer daily to find and upload photos, and sometimes it's like sifting through a pile of coins.
Apparently Lightroom will work like a charm in this respect—and do what I ask it to do. I am anal about very few things, but file systems have turned my crank ever since I put Dewey decimal labels on all my childhood books. Now I have incentive to impose a logical system on hundreds of folders and thousands of images currently stored on my hard drive....
Hmm, maybe I'll start tomorrow.
