Nazi aliens
Oct. 4th, 2003 08:28 pmI haven't remembered any of my dreams for—how long?—a couple years maybe. A few nights ago I started keeping my handwritten journal by my bed in hopes of remembering some. Last night I woke up, jotted down some notes, then went back to sleep and forgot about it until this evening, when I saw a dream entry in a friend's journal.
Dreams contain too much arcane personal symbolism to be of universal interest. I don't plan to recount most of my dreams here, but this one struck me as amusingly horrific.
It probably had something to do with what really happened last night. I went to a double baby shower for little Jaedyn and Molly, born in August and September respectively. The party included a booming houseful of lesbians, four children and three gay men.

In my dream, an alien race had landed and they were impounding all the women. This was not for breeding purposes, it was worse than that. I saw Linda from choir lined up with a bunch of others in front of some outdoor tables. Shadowy looking figures hunched behind, crossing names off of lists and pasting white rectangles onto the front of each woman's clothing. They were allowed to go home, but we all knew this would not be the end.

djjo and I were managing a resort in an old castle on the shore of Lake Erie. The beach below had huge, dark rocks emerging from it, and looked more like one of
androkles' ocean scenes. Our ornate beds were prominently located in the lobby of the hotel, which had a huge open gateway overlooking the water. We could see two islands like turtle shells on the horizon (Middle Sister Island on Lake Erie looks like a turtle from the house where I grew up).
Through the space between these two islands we saw the shadow of a giant beast-ship emerge. It had a huge dragon head on a long mechanical arm. We knew it was coming to get all the women.
Suddenly Linda and Colleen L. came running up the wide front stairs and into the lobby. We had to help them. I started to lead them around a corner, but just as we reached the corridor beyond, the ship lurched across the opening of the castle gate. We were too late. Surely they had seen us. We ran down the hall in the opposite direction.
We entered a large dining hall. All our friends and people we didn't know were sitting at cafeteria tables under massive Gothic architecture. The shadow of the ship had just finished passing the stained glass windows. Everyone thought it had gone. They jumped up, starting to cheer. I saw Greg dancing and shouting for joy.
I started to scream, "No, no! Be quiet! Be quiet!"
~~~~~~
What's amusing about remembering my dreams, apart from the fact that they usually resemble B SciFi or adventure movies, is that I can find bizarre associations with real events.
The dragon head of the beast-ship = the Hydro truck arm that repaired our service wires on Thursday night.
The figures crossing names off lists = election poll where I voted on Thursday.
Greg making too much noise = he kept whispering to Michaela in rehearsal on Wednesday. I wanted to tell them to be quiet.
I'm puzzled as to why Linda appeared in my dream because of all the people in the Chorus, she is the one I know the least. Physically, however, she resembles my ex-wife.
