Thanks for sharing these wonderful images.

Is Eramosa a person, or a place?

I visit and commune with the Eramosa practically every day. It might as well be a person, but it is a river. It taught me that believing in nature is enough for me.

Ha, never! I would be too shy to photograph it anyway.

[maidenly blush touching my cheek] This is the second photo that caused me (at work) to slap my hands over the computer screen and look furtively over my shoulder to make sure that no one else had seen it.

The photographs I've seen thus far are in the main very well composed and most are worthy of further contemplation.

Oops sorry. I sometimes put stuff behind a tag with a warning, but that didn't even occur to me with this, it's just me being me. I hope I didn't cause any embarrassment.

Good heavens, I'm not ACTUALLY offended, more amused at the reaction than anything else. It's not your fault I read the entry at work during a slow moment at the reference desk--serves me right for using my employer's computers for personal purposes.

As with the others you've loaded, it's an interesting photograph. Keep posting them.

You're arriving in my bed when, exactly?

Confession time: I wasn't totally sold on it when you started growing your beard out. The old photos of you with it relatively close-cropped were so gorgeous. But I held off commenting because I figured, hey, maybe it'll be fabulous when it fills in more. Oh, yeah. You just made my day brighter.

Seriously? I still like the trimmed look better, myself. I probably wouldn't have let it grow in except that my trimmer outgrew its usefulness and I decided to experiment until I can afford a new one. Now that it's becoming a serious beard, I'm reluctant to end the experiment. Besides, I fit in better with the three bushy bears. But if I get a job interview, I might feel compelled to prune.

Seriously am I trying to get you in bed? But of course! Seriously does the longer beard look good on you? Yes ... I do tend to like them shorter and neater, but the long ones can be quite nice. Tell you what: you do what feels good to you, and I'll think happy thoughts about what a cutie you are.

Of course I'm trying to get you in bed, too. What we need is a transporter device.

There's no shortage of image consultants and suchlike falling over themselves to claim "studies prove people don't trust men with facial hair". This is easily debunked by the simple fact that studies don't prove anything, ever. That's not their purpose. At best, results of a study may suggest something that usually wide open to interpretation, but proof? Never.

I recall all sorts of dire warnings about how I was simply going to have to shave off my beard or at least trim it, preferably down to a goatee, if I was to have any hope of landing and keeping a job. One female(!) was particularly vocal about this, until I decided I'd had enough and told her to grow her own beard and trim it any which way she pleased, or shave it off if she preferred. Since then, I've gotten several jobs and assorted other positions and certificates that required the granting authority to trust me. I've also found that contrary to being shunned in my greater working community, I'm specifically remembered for my full beard. At once-a-year conventions and symposia and such, people remember me. There's none of the stammering and "What was your name again?" and "It's Ted, isn't it? Ted, from Flying Hound, Mississippi? Oh, no, wait, that's wrong, it's Rich from Poughkeepsie...?" type stuff.

I'm keepin' it.

Thanks Daniel, good thoughts to ponder. Nobody has specifically suggested I shave it off. I'm just not used to having it this long, and it might affect my self-confidence. We'll see. I waver day to day on how I feel about it.

Mrrrowr!

I have this thing about my own facial hair, keeping it clipped fairly short. (It took a lot of prompting from [livejournal.com profile] quillon just to grow handlebars on my moustache, before I just let the goatee fill in.) I think that I would probably look positively scary with a beard that long myself, especially given the accompanying ponytail and all the gray that I refuse to color out. And that's not to mention that having my facial hair pulled ranks up there with... well, other things that totally irritate me.

Still, I admire others who are braver than I am where that's concerned, and let the beard grow. Especially when it looks so good. Yum!

Your beard looks great. I would refuse to colour it, too, though it's still a moot point for me. :)

Hehe, I inherited great legs from my dad. I'm actually out of shape right now.

Yeah, the river is a big perk of living where I do. I can't imagine being without it.

It didn't even occur to me. I should have thought of it. Unfortunately I can't look at the picture now without thinking about it. I suspect Bill knew better, too, but but my leg was hanging there, ready to be pulled. ;-)

Quite seriously, I would rather become a kitten for the next four months. Just give me a sunny window, a warm lap, and freedom from the necessities of a manic society.
