A novel concept
Oct. 8th, 2003 03:18 pmSome of you will be happy to hear that Tendril and Crock will probably return in November.
Maybe I'm crazy, but yesterday I registered for NaNoWriMo. Which means I have to decide what I'm going to write 50,000 words about in the month of November. I had several different ideas, but the most compelling one revolves around Tendril.
A couple questions kept bothering me. I hadn't written it yet, but I knew Crock was going to get kidnapped. I kept wondering:
Today I received an answer to the first question, and I'm getting closer to answering the second. I have enough to start writing and keep the action moving.
I wasn't sure about the talking squash, but apparently it will play an important role. Mrs. Apron will also return, along with Credenza and probably Lesson. Lark was redundant. He and Tendril are aspects of the same character. So my previous effort wasn't a waste of time after all. I will use a few ideas from it. Those five chapters, however, will not be part of the novel. I will post it in this journal.
Now that I'm getting that settled, I can keep working on
blind_king, which will of course get set aside for the month of November.
