I'm coming down with a cold, probably the same one [livejournal.com profile] bitterlawngnome and [livejournal.com profile] danthered had last week after our chilly camping weekend. The worn down feeling made me mildly depressed today.

So I missed [livejournal.com profile] djjo more than usual, because our visit this weekend was awfully nice, and my body is craving TLC. Unfortunately I probably passed the cold to you, Danny, and I'm sorry. How ironic is that?

Otherwise, some things are happening. Writing things.

I have been poking at the [livejournal.com profile] blind_king, my new attempt at the novel I started writing as a teenager, with different incarnations through my life. It is starting to come alive again. I don't intend to write it quickly, but setting up the new journal has encouraged me to spend a few hours at it, and the gears are starting to turn.

I have started an entirely different book project incorporating some of my nature essays from Suite101. I have wanted to do this for a couple years, and now [livejournal.com profile] bitterlawngnome has offered to collaborate. The essays need thorough editing. The revisions should be done by the end of the month.

Also [livejournal.com profile] ranger1 is coming to visit on Thursday for several days, our first meeting in person.

On November 1 I'll set aside [livejournal.com profile] blind_king for a month to do NaNoWriMo. I'm feeling intense pressure already. That weekend I'm going to Toronto, but hopefully I can start writing while I'm there.

Tonight I'm going to bed early for a change.

I hope you feel better soon Van. You don't need to be sick with all the stuff you want to do!

Good luck and have a great time with Chris. Hopefully the weather will cooporate, and you guys can get out and about for site seeing.

Guelph is a wonderful city, and it's looking amazing with all the fall colours.

Hugs! Danny

It is mostly a scratchy throat, like you said. Big hugs. Talk to you later.

Hugs again! Chris has arrived safe and sound

Colds are the pits, particularly if you're a bad patient like me. But catching it early and resting up can work wonders (I hear). Hope you start feeling better soon.

Bad patient, as in not looking after yourself? I am a bit like that. I went to bed early last night, only to spend most of the night reading. Oh well, it's only a cold.

I think you're going to like Mr. Lumberjack just great. He's such a sweetheart. Take good care of yourself and get over the cold first, if you can.

I still have many quiet days alone at home, so this is how I avoid isolation. October is unusually busy.
