I went to the river at dawn

Three days of clear sky have lifted my mood. I seem to be at the weather's mercy this fall.

My house at sunrise: my bedroom is on the left, and my office is behind the two righthand windows, facing southeast. My oak writing desk faces the corner window. My computer table faces the inside wall, with the middle window to my left. Now as I type at 9:45, sunshine floods my lap and chest. I occupy the entire second floor.



The third floor apartment contains two adults, a teenager, a toddler, two babies and two pitbulls. Saturday night while I was out, they apparently locked themselves out and broke the front door to get in. I hope they leave soon.

This image is number 4999. Since obtaining a memory card for my camera in March 2002 I have taken 5,000 images, almost 4,000 since joining LiveJournal in April 2003.

Nothing like a quiet environment for doing lots of writing.

Fortunately the noise isn't as bad as it used to be. When the mother first moved in, the toddler screamed constantly. He has quieted down, and the new babies aren't as noisy. She can't string two sentences together without half a dozen swear words, but at least she's better than the previous girlfriend, who was constantly violent. The most annoying noise is the dogs who go tearing downstairs for their five minute walk every day, waking me up between 6 and 7 a.m. I would mind half as much if the family wasn't slowly tearing the place to pieces. I need to phone to landlord again to tell him, not only did they tear a whole in the door, but it doesn't close properly now.

I'm learning to make the most of this camera, and its limitations are motivating me to start saving for a better one, when I can.

i have a medium-priced one, but Sue seems to take all the
pictures. she's always done, for some reason, i just don't
think that way. i want to put them online, print them, etc.
