Very nice colors. At first I thought it was a painting. :-)

Van, what kind of digital camera do you have? You take some wonderful photographs, beautifully composed, but it also appears that you have a great tool to work with. So spill the beans.

My camera, a great tool? Hehe! Don't get me started.

It is a point-and-shoot Kodak DX3500. I have no control over focus, aperature or speed, and the poor resolution becomes obvious in images any larger than these, so unfortunately I won't be exhibiting any of the images off the Web. For now I can't afford anything better, and it has taught me to make the best of what I have.

I think you get very good results out of your camera, like those today. Much of the time mine is set on auto, so the settings are often probably close to what your camera is choosing for you. Having said that I do mess around with shutter speed quite a bit too. Higher resolution would of course be a big plus for you, particularly as you can zoom in and enlarge a small section of the image without losing too much definition. But prices are coming down, the number of pixels attainable is increasing and one day . . .

Because I liked playing with light and depth of field so much, I rarely used the automatic setting on my old camera. I just looked at the light meter and then adjusted to what I wanted. This digital camera has taught me to be less manipulative, just accept things the way they are. ;-)
