I took a break from writing to go walking in the park at 3:30. The forecast high was 13°C (54°F), unusually mild for November. The sky looked troubled, but the Eramosa was peaceful as ever.

On the horizon is the Owens Corning fibreglass plant. It's machinery creates a steady, quiet background drone that can be heard throughout parts of the park where I stroll almost every day. Its presence belies the wilderness feel of many of my images. And yet I am thankful that city and nature coexist here, otherwise my life would not have so much beauty.

As you may have noticed, I adore pictures of clouds. That one's a winner.

Strange that I should feel familiarity now when I see your riverbank.

Not strange, I think. Not only have you been here in person, but I keep cudgeling everyone with photos of the place. :-)

It's interesting that I've had a big string of unusual sky pics the past few days, not the usual drab November weather.

awsome

It is. I walk in this park nearly every day.

Thanks for visiting my journal. I hope you'll come back.

I think I would enjoy spending time around there. It's very beautiful. It would be nice if people would see beauty even in this dying state (of the plants) as they have a wonderful color.

Autumn colours are rich. Now that the leaves are fallen, I love the way the golden river grasses contrast with the dark trees.

I'm sure you would find a lot of interesting things to do around here, between hiking and the city's arts community. Of course in the summer Ontario's cottage country is even nicer, but that's just my opinion. Maybe you'll visit this way some time.

I have taken dozens of photos from this same vantage point, always lovely, but none of them captured the spirit of the place, so I don't think I posted any of them. Yesterday in its "drab" autumn colours it was perfect. It shows why I love the river. This particular spot is less than a 10 minute walk from my apartment.

Lovely quiet photos Van

I love the sky shot - there have been some pretty amazing skys the last week or so.

And today's weather was great as well. We don't often get this kind of warmth this late. It would have been a nice day to go out strolling with you.

Hugs there! Danny

Yes, I commented to Chris that I've had a string of amazing sky photos this week. I hope this agreeable weather holds out until your visit.

I'm on a sleep deficit this morning. Craving your cuddly cub body.
