I finished writing Tendril Through Cyberspace at 11:30 this evening. Actually, the final chapter became a rambling 1,700 words, written in 45 minutes, of notes about what I want to change if I decide to revise this rough draft.

NaNoWriMo Progress Meter

I'm expected the handsome cub [livejournal.com profile] djjo to arrive here around lunchtime tomorrow. He is escaping from paint fumes and I'm escaping from the hollow, fuming shell of my brain. I don't think I have ever anticipated a hug as much as this one coming.

Congrats on finishing the novel. You go relax now.

Yes, that is much needed. I'm incredulous at my difficulty in coping even with self-imposed stress.

Congrats Van!

I'm impressed by your discipline and your characters. Saving all your chapters I haven't read yet for December, when one way or another my poor lost ugly monster of a NaNoWriMo novel will be put down.

You deserve now to go take a nice hot bath, read a mindless page-turner, eat regular meals, brush your teeth, have sex -- and enjoy all these things a little extra on my behalf. :D

This morning I'm wandering around fretting over neglected housework, but I think your advice is right. Danny will be here shortly. Fortunately he isn't a fussy person, so we can get on with the relaxation part.

You have made lots of progress in the past few days. Do you think you can finish by Sunday?

Enjoy; that sounds like a real treat. Housework can wait.

Think I can finish on time; at least I'm planning on it. If I keep going with the same word count I've forced myself to put out these past few days, should just make it. Thanks for the encouragement!

I'm at 45,283. Hope to finish tomorrow, actually, which gives me all of Sunday to bang the rest of it out in case I don't.

If you really want to read it as is, the entire rough draft is posted in my other journal. You can friend [livejournal.com profile] blind_king, let me know to add you back so you can read the friends only posts, and I'll tell you where to start.

I'm going to let it rest for several months, then consider revising it with a view to publication. If you prefer, you can wait and take your chances on that happening.

This is wonderful news! And how healing for you to have some cuddling time with Danny as your reward for surviving the long hard slog of the novel.

I've found what I have read so far of Tendril to be an absolute delight. I have a big clutch of chapters to read still. I'm looking forward to it!

Hope you had a good visit this past weekend.

hugs, Shimmer
