Last night we had our heaviest snowfall of the season so far. The temperature has risen to near freezing, but is expected to get very cold again by the end of the week.

Blue Camaro

The pond

Cajoling myself down to the Eramosa is always difficult this time of year, and it is always worthwhile.

That second picture is just haunting.

It was terrific in colour, too, but I couldn't resist the grey-scaled image, which is rapidly growing on me. It's almost eerie, isn't it. A strange quality of light.

I had half convinced myself that it was in color, late on a cloudy afternoon.

And black when it drives fast.

I think this will become one of my favourite photos of the pond.

I'm beginning to feel that the colour shot detracts from this one. I think I'm going to keep it to myself.

I'm glad you can see them, Susan. I aim to please. I decided to pay $2.99 month to avoid the branding until I get around to setting up my own domain.

You're a techie. Do you have any advice about choosing a web host?

I have three (actually four) that I deal with and one that I'd recommend pretty highly. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com - their beginner plan (which is what I have) is $4 a month or $44 a year (that's US $) and gives you lots of stuff including lots of storage room. They have a forum for asking questions and I've been pretty pleased with their up time and their service.

Mainly, I my advice is go with one that where you know someone - someone who can vouch for uptime and services - I'll vouch for the one above but you may have friends on ones you like better. There are a million out there.

Just be sure to always keep a copy on your own computer (or CD or diskette or something) of whatever you put out there.

The stillness in that second picture is almost palpable. Thanks for sharing it.
