What do you get for nothing?
Jan. 20th, 2004 11:48 amMy experiment with freepicturehosting.com has gone foul. I apologize that all my images back to January 11 can't be viewed. The box says, "You've reached your bandwidth limit for this month please upgrade."
In fact I paid $2.99 to subscribe to a service plan allowing a bandwidth of 1,500 mb per month, and I have used less than 900 mb. Checking on the website this morning, I discovered they had reduced the allowable bandwidth overnight and without notice to 400 mb. Going to PayPal to cancel my subscription, I discovered the site had never charged $2.99 to my account.
What an inept service. Now I regret giving them any personal information. I hope I have heard the last of them.
For now I will continue to rely on
wonderboymi who has graciously hosted my photos since July.
I recently registered a domain name of my own and chose a web host that a friend recommended. Once that is set up I plan to place all my photos in galleries on the new web site.

if only yahoo and all those other sites would just bundle 20 MB with your screenname and upsell later, of course, with the ability to host pictures and reference them on external sights.
