I have just changed my username from vwaffle to [livejournal.com profile] vaneramos. This will not affect my friends or "friends of" lists at all, and links will automatically be forwarded. Thanks especially to [livejournal.com profile] bitterlawngnome and [livejournal.com profile] schillerium for helping me choose a new name, but also to everyone else who offered suggestions.

Oh, do you remember that old song? Vamos a la playa or was that a European phenomenon? I've now got it stuck in my head. Thanks a bunch. :-)

Yeah, I was thinking it sounded like some Spanish verb in the first person plural.

Um. That comes off sounding a little rude, I guess. I do actually like the name.

Well, éramos means "we were," but you probably already knew that. I don't know any Spanish, but I found out while I was researching the the meaning of Eramosa. Don't worry, I wasn't offended; but I'm glad you like the name.

I don't recognize the lyrics, but that doesn't mean a thing. Anything I know is either classical (in the broad sense) or was at the top of the charts in 1983. My tastes are eclectic, but I just don't know anything else very well.

How'd you do that?? I thought I would have to delete the old you and add the new you...

I'm confused!

Well, I had to pay $15, but beyond that it was easy. When you change names, you are given options whether or not to keep your old friends list, friends of list, and have links to the old journal name redirected.

$15 huh? Hmmm... Wonder if it's worth it.

So, Van of the Eramosa, eh? sounds very fitting for you!

I think in honor of your name change, we need to see some current pictures of the Beloved River.

hugs, Shimmer

You're a sly faerie, always cajoling me into walking. Well, I have been a bad bear and not gone the past two days. Don't worry, I'm not depressed, just a little restless and dissatisfied with my life. Some people might think this is a good thing. My energy is up. It is a direct result of increasing daylight. I just hope I can keep it focused and turned toward some necessary changes. February through May is always a strange time of year for me. The cub emerges from hibernation and is hungry. When I was younger and tried to repress my natural inclinations, spring more than fall used to make me depressed. That doesn't happen anymore, but the energy is still disconcerting. I have been doing a little housework, a little writing, considering an overhaul of my web site, and reviewing my LJ identity!

I had similar confusion when one of my friends changed his name; that's why I posted a notice. ;-)

Life is good.
