The weather having turned sharply cold again, yesterday afternoon I was able to walk on the frozen river and take some pictures of fallen trees I can't normally approach.

Mild weather then freezing has glazed the surface of the snow. It records hundreds of park visitations, human and canine.

Another glimpse of the sparrows on Florence Lane, from the same location as Friday.

For the reflection collection.

Another snowscape is posted in [livejournal.com profile] texture.

The snowscape looks like a moonscape!

I love the birds/fence pictures, I suppose for complementary reasons. I'm a sucker for composition.

I posted another snow picture in [livejournal.com profile] texture and one of my friends said it looked like Mars rock!

These are gorgeous. the picket fence warms my heart.

But, so long since we had a glimpse of apple-cheeked Van in his winter-fur regalia!

Mebbe you'll hand the camera to Danny next time he's visiting and strike some of those cute faun poses of yours... just for your fans.

smiling and remembering,

Shimmer

You mean my snowy self-portraits aren't enough for you? Demanding faerie! You realize how much energy modeling requires. This is Valentine's weekend and I'm lucky to have the cub all to myself, so I won't promise anything.

Oh yeah, I know modeling takes a LOT of energy, as you insist upon ruthless control of your own image.

And then, there's what Danny makes you do AFTER the shoot. heh.

tummy-rubs, Shimmer

That's an interesting perspective. Despite the austere weather, the park is well-used.

Wow, even more interesting. I hadn't thought of the resemblance to rock smoothed and pockmarked by glacial action. Now that you mention it, it also reminds me of limestone above the beaches on the west side of the Bruce Peninsula. The glaciers left big long scratches in the rock. Of course these footprints are more random than that, but from this perspective they look like they're running in straight lines.

I meant to say "parallel lines."

I bear with it. It is like learning to accept a lover's faults, and in fact see the beauty in the whole character, of which his faults are an inseperable facet. Nature teaches me to like winter. In the city it is much less pleasant and brings a stronger inclination to stay indoors.
