It had to be done
Feb. 9th, 2004 09:16 pmTomorrow I want to take a resume to Royal City Nursery. Regardless of what people have said about my beard, I didn't feel confident job hunting with it so bushy. Confidence is essential. Part of the problem is I refuse to wear a tie, so some compensation must be made for neatness. Besides I needed a haircut.
My old Remington beard trimmer died last summer. Today I went to Sears and bought a Wahl clipper so I can look after my own hair from now on. I couldn't afford it right now, but on the other hand it saved me a $20 visit to the barber.
It's the same as my last haircut, which I did myself for the first time using Danny's clipper in November, except the goatee is getting longer. When my daughters saw the last cut they thought it was cool.
"You look like one of those bikers," Marian declared.
I wonder if she had any idea what a trip that gave me.

Wanna see more?

Date: 2004-02-09 06:48 pm (UTC)The goatee is fun. With it, you remind me of the cubbish bass player for Queens of the Stone Age, the one with a penchant for getting naked onstage. Mmm...
I'm with you on the resume/beard-trimming thing. As much as I like to think that my qualifications speak for themselves, I'd rather not have them drowned out by the voice in the interviewer's head that says to her "Axe murderer!!" when she first lays eyes on me. Such is modern life.

Date: 2004-02-09 08:17 pm (UTC)I do think your eyes (and anyone's eyes, for that matter) get brought out more when the bush isn't so thick around the sides of the cheeks....and you have very expressive, very sexy eyes.
Oh, and the chest....well, um, what to say except it's certainly gay enough for MY purposes...;)
*reminding self to be good*
Seriously, Van...it looks good on you, and I'm not usually a fan of full bush-beards.

I look forward to finding out more about your purposes. I'm sure they're good ones.

Date: 2004-02-10 02:31 pm (UTC)I'm afraid the interview went badly, which is no surprise because it was the first one I did in a couple years. I just have to avoid getting dishearted and learn from the experience.
Let me know if you're around this eve and I will give you a call.
don't feel sad about the beard
Date: 2004-02-10 07:26 pm (UTC)Sorry to hear about the interview. Hopefully they will understand it's been a while, and keep that in mind.
Hugs! Danny
