Tomorrow I want to take a resume to Royal City Nursery. Regardless of what people have said about my beard, I didn't feel confident job hunting with it so bushy. Confidence is essential. Part of the problem is I refuse to wear a tie, so some compensation must be made for neatness. Besides I needed a haircut.

My old Remington beard trimmer died last summer. Today I went to Sears and bought a Wahl clipper so I can look after my own hair from now on. I couldn't afford it right now, but on the other hand it saved me a $20 visit to the barber.

It's the same as my last haircut, which I did myself for the first time using Danny's clipper in November, except the goatee is getting longer. When my daughters saw the last cut they thought it was cool.

"You look like one of those bikers," Marian declared.

I wonder if she had any idea what a trip that gave me.

Wanna see more?

I'm puzzled as to what exactly is "too gay" about your bare chest in that picture. Or what makes a chest gay in the first place, besides the preference of its owner. It looks quite alright to me. More than alright actually. To quote an Aerosmith tune, "My brand new baby’s lookin’ f.i.n.e. - fine."

The goatee is fun. With it, you remind me of the cubbish bass player for Queens of the Stone Age, the one with a penchant for getting naked onstage. Mmm...

I'm with you on the resume/beard-trimming thing. As much as I like to think that my qualifications speak for themselves, I'd rather not have them drowned out by the voice in the interviewer's head that says to her "Axe murderer!!" when she first lays eyes on me. Such is modern life.

Silly man, it's just that I am gay, so some people in some localities might think it's immoral for me to display things like affection and my hairy chest, who knows? You can't be too careful. :-P

Now are you just ego stroking, or are you, like me, having certain fond memories and wanting to give honest compliments. :-P :-P :-P

[snorts of laughter] Just who have you got standing out of the camera's range, young man? I'll have to show this to the local church ladies group...

Just be careful you don't pollute their minds. ;-)

Awww, you're no fun! I manage to horrify people in the course of ordinary conversation, just /think/ what I could do with photographs!

That chest definitely looks like it wants to have sex with other manly, hairy chests. Makes me want to do the same! ;P

Ummm...me like.

I do think your eyes (and anyone's eyes, for that matter) get brought out more when the bush isn't so thick around the sides of the cheeks....and you have very expressive, very sexy eyes.

Oh, and the chest....well, um, what to say except it's certainly gay enough for MY purposes...;)

*reminding self to be good*

Seriously, Van...it looks good on you, and I'm not usually a fan of full bush-beards.

I had long hair until three years ago. For years I resisted the trend to cut it short. But when I did, I was surprised and pleased at how the the buzz cut accentuated my eyes.

Danny likes the long beard. I'm having fun growing it and it suits me alright.

I look forward to finding out more about your purposes. I'm sure they're good ones.

Dammit, my beard never gets that long. Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day having facial hair envy.

The goatee shows about seven months growth.

Nature must have blessed you in other ways. ;-)

That's the problem, you can't always tell by looking at people whether they're gay or not, but you know their invisible gayness will rub off on our children. I mean just seeing a man like you makes me want to....want to....

Hey, stop looking at me like that!

ahem (adjusting) - Looking good!

You did a great job there Van! Hubba Hubba!

Knock em for a loop at the interview tomorrow! Crossing my fingers big time! (or should that be Thyme?!!!)

Big hugs. Talk to you later. Danny

Thanks. I felt a little sad, knowing how much you liked it long. I'll make it up to you somehow, and enjoy myself in the process.

I'm afraid the interview went badly, which is no surprise because it was the first one I did in a couple years. I just have to avoid getting dishearted and learn from the experience.

Let me know if you're around this eve and I will give you a call.

don't feel sad about the beard

I like all the looks that you have gone through, and I like the way it looks now! But I'll still let you make it up....[g].

Sorry to hear about the interview. Hopefully they will understand it's been a while, and keep that in mind.

Hugs! Danny
