Lake Erie frozen, Monday evening. Looking southwest toward Toledo.

Potvin has adopted my parents. They give him little trouble, and he doesn't seem to mind.

On the cool sun porch Mom's cyclamen bloom year-round, but peak in late winter.

No, I don't mind. How do you intend to use it? Just send me an email using the address on my info page and I will reply. The high-res version is 311 kb.

Cyclamen were August Strindberg's favorite flower. I took humor in that the first time I got to see one as they are kind of inside-out-ish, much like Mr. Strindberg. I love the delicate perfume they give off.

I'm not familiar with Strindberg's work, nor with the fragrance of cyclamen, but my nose is not particularly sensitive. I'll have to pay closer attention.

I've always thought it smelled kinda like that powder they sprinkle over graves, but really faint. Strindberg was a play write in his time, and a rather eccentric person that didn't seem to get alone well with anyone, especially women. His bitterness often comes out in his plays.

#3 is wild. Something about the stone/grout with the pop of color and the tangle of stem next to the vein of leaves with a horizon of snow - wow.

Thanks for your comments. I chose and posted this image intuitively, so it's helpful to hear what other people see in it.

Just to give the other two their proper air time: yes, the cat seems to have settled in nicely. I see he's achieved the proper 360 degree drumstick pose for cleaning purposes.

It's such a typical, elegant cat gesture, I couldn't resist.
